Video Editing: Da Vinci Resolve & Bypassing Copyright on Youtube

Hey everyone,

Recently, I moved from CapCut to Da Vinci Resolve which is a free, professional video editing software which, once you get your head around it, you'll never look back!

Firstly, once you've finished your masterpieces, IMO, select the YouTube Option, 1080p and if you're going to use my loophole below, allow it to automatically upload to YouTube (don't worry, it'll be posted privately). The reason you do this is to add the music on the phone applications of TikTok and then can upload from there to your desired platforms.

Additionally if you're posting on IG, TT, YT Shorts as they're the most popular for engagement, at the beginning, or at any stage of building your project in Da Vinci Resolve but BEFORE rendering and exporting the final version, ensure that you go to the dropdown 2nd from the left at the top "File", select "Project Settings", change the Time Resolution at the top to 1920 x 1080, if your uploading to any of the aforementioned socials with vertical styled content 9:16, check the "Use Vertical Resolution box", KEEP EVERY OTHER SETTING THE SAME as the system will update it for you automatically if it detects higher FPS is required.

Furthermore, if you're uploading videos and want to avoid the Copyright Infringement on YouTube which can be extremely frustrating and affect your account from monetisation in the future, I found a clever loophole...

  1. Open TikTok if you haven't already downloaded and remove the Watermark setting for downloads
  2. Upload your video to TikTok, select your chosen music, ideally synced so it's EPIC and post privately or publicly depending on if you use the platform or not.
  3. The new video with music should automatically download to your phone.
  4. Lastly, open up YouTube Studio, IG or whatever platform and go for gold... DON'T FORGET YOUR HASHTAGS, type of content "gaming" + which game and any other relevant settings.
  5. BONUS: if you want to get really smart and trick the algorithm's of different socials, completely remove the metadate from the video you've downloaded from TT and then upload. Some socials prefer it if your not taking content (even though) it's yours from other platforms and may intentionally NOT prioritise it. (Coming from a social media manager aka my younger brother.)
